Organising your chapters

Even the best of us sometimes need to reorganise our novel. Chapters need to be moved around, the order changed etc. We thought that if this could happen, let’s make it as easy as possible to do.

So we’ve made the chapters drag and drop. Just open the chapter sidebar and click and hold the chapter you want to move. Then drag it to the place you want to drop it.

That’s it.

Can there be a way to not just have it come up always as a chapter 1 then jus having the option to put the title of the chapter? Sometimes I have a need to do a preface page, or note from the author- with the preset chapter then just putting the title in…if I do a preface page and then start the actual chapters they are all wrong for the number.

I have the same issue, given that there is the ability to name a chapter it seems odd to force numbering of chapters, this might seem minor but if you have a foreword and a prologue it is really frustrating.

Hi Kain, thanks for your comment. We’re actually looking at possibly removing the chapter numbers so you can name them whatever you want. This will allow you to have prologues, epilogues, chapters, scenes etc! 🙂

I am guessing that there is a HISTORY function and an UNDO function for this, so that somebody can – ultimately – decide that they don’t like the new arrangement and want to revert back to how it was in the beginning or revert to an earlier version.
